"Strange that so few come to the woods to see how the pine lives and grows and spires, lifting its evergreen arms to the light – to see its perfect success."
~ Henry David Thoreau ~

Passions

Passions are about things that combine interests, fun and faith.  Camping in a living history event is one of those.  Each year, well over a 1,000 people live together for a week, cooking, competing, playing and worshiping as if it was the 18th Century.  More pictures of the 2010 Church Service and the 2011 Church Service can be found by clicking the links.  You can also find more information at the Florida Frontiersmen, Inc. web site.

The favorite activity for Lost Pine is the 18th century church service held in a tent on the first Sunday of the event.  The photo gallery contains more photos.  Some of the past sermons given at both the Alafia service and local churches on July 4th are listed below.

"Freedom is Never Free" is a message that has been given on the 4th of July 2005.  It is a first person message where one of the signer's of the Declaration of Independence, Caesar Rodney, is interviewed by the church pastor.

My passions also extend to taking youth on a mission trips.  Here is my 2009 adventure, a trip called Lost and Found.  2010 was called Aiken to Serve.

You can find photos of my 2009 Tea Party activity here as well as the message that was given.  If you have a high speed connection, you can play the 12 minute Tea Party talk done August 22, 2009 by clicking here (AVI File is 28 MB).

In 2011, there was a presentation made at an April 15th Tax Day event.  The message and photos are also included.
