Snapshots was created to show how the Internet can be used to create Bible Study material.  Verses selected for the Sunday message are researched and supplemental information is gathered from a variety of trusted sources. You will find some of excellent study resources linked below. 

A caution is required here, however. When finding material on the Internet, it is best to apply prior knowledge of Scriptures and your own theological boundaries to what you find. Anyone can claim to be an expert on the Internet.

studylight.org Make a point to find and use "Barnes Notes." Albert Barnes and James Murphy wrote their 14-volume commentary on the entire Bible (KJV), verse-by-verse from Genesis through Revelation. Published in the 1800s, it is still well-loved and well-read by evangelicals who appreciate Barnes' pastoral insights.
easyenglish.info EasyEnglish is a form of simple English developed by Wycliffe Associates (UK). This site contains Bible commentaries, Bible translations, Bible studies, and other materials that are written in simple English. They are free for you to download and use.

Wikipedia Wikipedia is probably the largest open source encyclopedia in the world. It can be an excellent resource for finding background material on just about any Biblical topic. Because of its open source content, use your judgment on areas of controversy.
usccb.org The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States. Their website has numerous resources for use in understanding our Bible.
christnotes.org Christ Notes offers an online Bible search in many translations plus Bible commentary
International Bible Society For Bible translations on line and other study material, the IBS-Global site offers whatever you may need.  One of their services, the daily Scripture verse, is linked to the home page of LostPine.com
The Free Dictionary This site provides a useful and quick tool for looking up terms and other vocabulary that are not commonly understood.
