Advice, where to find it

John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.

Commentary: Two key elements of finding wisdom, seeking advice or receiving answers to our prayers:

  • remain faithful in Christ; and
  • remain in the Word. (See 1 John 5:14-15).  

We are instructed to ask according to God's will. His will for us and our understanding of His will can come from only three sources; faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Bible.
